For the 30th edition, the Jazz in Vannes festival develops street festivities and opens to the new esplanade of the harbour of Vannes.


  • First edition of the ‘Trocajazz’, on the right bank of the harbour esplanade, from July 27th to 30th 2009. Free evening, open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

  • Opening evening at the brand new esplanade of the harbour of Vannes.
 
  • The 19th ‘Tremplin national de Jazz’ moves from the Limur garden to the harbour on July, 28th, 29th and 30th 2009. Each day, a new category of musicians will perform. The categories are the same as last year – Blues, Professionals and Amateurs. Very popular, that event enables five bands to perform on stage. The prizewinners play the first part of the concert at 8:30 p.m.at the Limur garden. It is open to bands from two to 10 musicians practicing jazz or blues in metropolitan France.

- Tremplin Amateurs : Thursday, 30th July

  • The ‘Girdaf’ joins the ‘Cinéville’ and the association Cin’écran. Jazz inspired films will be shown during the week festival at the cinema La Garenne at 2:30 p.m.
 
  • This year festival favours outdoor and street festivities like most Summer festivals. In case of bad weather, a poncho will be offered to each spectator.
 
  • Jam sessions will be extended. They will take place this year from Tuesday, 28th to Saturday 1st, August. This year edition brings light on improvisation. The jam sessions will take place at the Limur garden from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. An open stage in the Limur garden will enable exchanges between confirmed musiciens and amateurs. No competiton, no prize at stake, only the love of jazz and the desire to share it with the public, motivates the musicians.
 
  • The 2009 parade will start off from the harbour. That street activity will take place on Monday, 27th, July, on the occasion of the opening evening of the Jazz festival.
