Jazz in Vannes Festival
Molly Johnson, Esperanza Spalding, Carla Bley's Big Band, Archie Shepp, Buena Vista Social Club and Didier Lockwood will be the main attractions at the 30th Jazz in Vannes Festival, which will take place from Monday 27th July to Saturday 1st August.
An Open Air Festival - Irresistible!
The 'Jazz in Vannes' festival is first and foremost an open-air festival in a unique setting with irresistible charm - the Limur Garden with its linden tree.
It also has a cast of symbolic French and international artists, reflecting all the rhythms and colours of jazz. Molly Johnson, Esperanza Spalding, Carla Bley's Big Band, Buena Vista Social Club, Archie Shepp or Eric Le Lann and Didier Lockwood as sponsor of the 30th Festival. All Stars will be onstage.
The festival is also an opportunity to discover emerging young talents and for amateur and professional musicians to express themselves through the springboard and jam sessions. The entire town lives in step with jazz during the daytime entertainment, the concerts in the Auditorium des Carmes and the “jazz off” event, with evenings of improvisation and concerts organised throughout the city.
The 30th Festival will begin with the traditional free evening event in the Place de Hôtel de Ville and at the new esplanade on the right bank of the harbour.

Daily street festivities
During the festival, you can swing on the wild rythms of the various brass bands of 'Les repris de justesse'(30ies music), the 'Taraf Goulamas'(middle-east Gipsy way music), of 'Orange Acoustique'(Yiddish jazz) or of 'Titou'(cycling pianist).
