The partnership agreement between the two towns was signed in 2001.
Vannes signed a cooperation contract with Walbrzych on 2 October 2001. Walbrzych, which is located in the south-east of Poland in Silesia, has 140,000 inhabitants.
The president of the Brittany-Walbrzych association is Mrs Antoinette Le Quintrec (town councillor).
