Vannes is twinned with three towns: Mons in Belgium, Cuxhaven in Germany and Fareham in Great Britain. These twinning schemes are designed to allow people to meet and take part in the following types of activities: schools, students, cultural and sporting associations, representatives of the economic community.
The Town council has special relationships with the towns of Barouëli in Mali and Walbrzych in Poland.
