The cleanliness of Vannes and its suburbs is one of the town’s priorities. In order to provide everyone with a quality environment, council staff are on the streets as early as 4.30 am to clean the public areas. An anti-social behaviour plan, the provision of dog mess removal tongs, improved autumn leaf removal and a free graffiti removal campaign are a few of the measures taken since 2001. The council has also set up an “Allo propreté” freephone number to simplify contact and for all requests for assistance. With this new service, all our citizens can contribute to the cleanliness of the town so that Vannes is kept clean with your help.
Day-to-day commitment of the council teams
Vannes town council sweeps up approximately 1,500 cubic metres of street litter annually. The cleaning service, consisting of 31 persons, works every day of the year in order to keep the town clean.
Loving animals also means accepting and obeying a few rules of common courtesy, particularly in order to avoid the annoyance caused by dog mess on the streets.
