South Brittany University

The “Université de Bretagne-Sud” in Vannes is comprised of three departments located in the town centre, in Tohannic and in Kercado.

The town centre campus
This houses the Law, Economics and Management Faculty. In 2006 this campus had 1,520 students, it is located in the town centre at 1, Rue de la Loi.
The Faculty includes a Law department and an Economics-Management and AES (Social and economic administration) department with four sectors: Economics-Management and AES (Social and economic administration), Human Resources Management, Accounting-Finance, Marketing and Sales.

 

The Tohannic campus
This houses the Science and Engineering Faculties. In addition to the five undergraduate degree courses shared between Lorient and Vannes, professionally-orientated educational courses are specifically based at the Tohannic site: a professional undergraduate course and a master with computer sciences and mathematics options.
The “Ecole Nationale Supérieure d"Ingénieurs de Bretagne-Sud (ENSIBS)”  (South Brittany National Engineering College) is scheduled to open in September 2007.

 

The Kercado campus
The “Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Kercado” (Kercado Polytechnic) offers professionally orientated two-year courses  (four DUT courses in business and administration management, computer sciences, statistics and computer data processing, marketing techniques) and three-year courses (seven professional degrees in marketing and distribution, electronic marketing, information systems, statistics and computer sciences for the health sector, etc.) and two apprentice-based training courses.
