The airfield
Vannes Meucon airfield is ten minutes from the town centre.
Vannes town council are responsible for running the airfield until 31 December 2007.
However, since 1st January 2007, the land "belongs" to the Communauté d'Agglomération (urban district community).
Three council employees are assigned to the airfield: they are all airfield firefighters. They are responsible for refuelling the planes and serving behind the bar.
The airfield is mainly used by the flying club and the parachuting club.
