Town adorned with greenery and flowers

Vannes is a magnificent "garden town" that was awarded the "Grand Prix National du Fleurissement (National award for flowering)" in 2002 and 2005. It has also been awarded the “Ville fleurie 4 fleurs (Four flowers)” label since 1995.
Every year, the people of Vannes, or Vannetais, are invited to flower their town in a Flowered Houses competition.

During 2007, "The 1,000 trees operation", which began in 2005, will bring the number of roadside trees up to 5,000.

Grand prix national du fleurissement (National flowering competition)

In 2005, the national jury of Flowered Town and Villages awarded Vannes the special "Grand Prix National de Fleurissement" label for the third time in succession. It highlighted "the remarkable effort" made by the town to improve the quality of life of the people of Vannes.
